About Me
Some people never find their passion in life. I don't know how they do it. The moment I hit a pool ball, I felt like I was home and I never looked back. From laughing with friends at league to competing in national tournaments, I have done things through pool that I never thought possible.
How I found the game
It's kind of a silly story how I found pool. I kind of am amazed at how much that little bill changed my life. It taught me to pay attention to my money at least!
When I was 19, I loaned my brother $20. A week or so later, he called me from Hard Times to tell me to come collect. Of course I came right away (family is nice and all, but $20 is $20). After repayment, my brother invited me to stay and play with his friends. I was so hooked that I spent the next ten years inside of a pool hall. Besides the Elmer's glue complexion I've developed out of it, pool is the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Pool has helped shape my life and person in so many ways that I can't even separate them anymore. I used to be cripplingly shy and insecure in my teen years, and you wouldn't be able to find a single person that knows that today. It has given me confidence, pride, dedication, and determination as well as a host of other mental, emotional, and critical thinking skills. I owe a debt to pool, and intend on repaying it.
For now, I am looking to become more active in the industry, in multiple capacities, but as always a player first. I think pool is a vital part of society and there are kids, teens, women, and men all over that could benefit from the teachings of billiards and its applications. I found pool, but pool helped find me. I am who I am because I struck a ball and I am eternally grateful.
